basically this. You could argue than running a warrior is OP since you can eat tons of attacks without dying too. Or what about archers snipers/minigun that murder ennemies without even having to get close ?
Haven't started experimenting with mixing vocations yet. So you can mix augments. Good to know. Obviously weapon skills are tied to weapons, but do base skills cross vocations as well?
I'm level 30 atm and am missing 3 of the new vocations so I can't say this for all of them, but... The mage and sorcerer do share some spells. If you buy a mage spell, you also buy it from the sorcerer vocation, provided they both share that spell. I believe they only share Levin, Frigor and whatever the flamethrower is called though, so the tier 1 fire, lightning, ice spells.
If you wanna be really optimized in your stat growths, heres a bit more info; you gain different stats on each level up based on what class you are. So for instance, if you're a warrior, you'll gain more hp and strength with each level up, if you're a sorcerer then it will be magic and magic defense.
The game does mix a bit on some levels, like giving you a boost in magic despite being a physical class and so on. So not every level up will give you the same stat boosts.
You can honestly ignore this mechanic entirely and still be effective with whatever vocation you pick, even if you only leveled up on physical vocations, your magic still still be good enough to face anything. This is just something to think about if you're planning on making a super optimized build
My mainpawn is my tank. My thief can then conceal, move and clean up. Just seems like thief has been very effective.
Thanks for the insights. Awesome.
Fighter: Parry everything, I mean... EVERYTHING. Stagger any attacker and dish out big counter damage while being stupidly tanky
Ranger: Massive headshot and vital shot damage, requires precision but it can 1 shot some high tier large monsters with an optimized build
Thief: Dodge, counter, and unleash flurries of attacks, excels at climbing monsters to shred their weakspots with a ton of high damage attacks
Warrior: Tank and counter by timing bashes and charged attacks while chaining attacks with proper timing to attack really fast with heavy stagger damage. Similar to fighter but the timing comes in you starting a big attack just right to gain poise and massive resistance boosts
Mage: Super versatile, buffs for everyone, shields, elemental damage, heals, and so on. Can be insane
Sorcerer: Summon MASSIVE spells that can freeze enemies solid, gotta stay in the back and wait for the right moment to unleash your big spells while your tanks pull aggro.
Won't say anything about the advanced vocations cause I dont wanna spoil em
Sorcerer with 14 spells crying in the corner
You can only have one character, how can you tell? You can't delete and try and new character you stuck with the one you make.
