GAME BREAKING BUG: Endless fall through map loop

Fair warning to everyone as this has destroyed my save and due to the absolute garbage way saves work in DD2 and the atrocious coding and design of the game there is no way to fix this and it will literally wipe your save completely.

When you get to the city of Vermonth, at one point you will get a quest called "Culling Monsters", one part of this quests sends you East of the city and once you arrive to the outskirts there will be a bridge you need to cross. Well there is a good segment of the path right as you come up to the bridge that will drop you right through the map.

Once this happens your character is permanently stuck in an endless loop of falling through the map, if you save and reload it will just bring you to the point where you fall through the map again and the cycle continues.

After trying everything possible to unstuck my character I decided to click of Reload from Last Inn option, and this sent me back to the beginning of the game when I visited the first settlement, lvl 2, no gear and essentially almost 6 hours of progress JUST WIPED.

There is no way to recover the old save as it gets permanently overwritten by the Reload at In and since this game does not have multiple save slots there is no way to recover the save.

TLDR: Fell through the map doing a main quest, stuck in endless fall loop even when I reload save, game respawns me at in and resets me back to the beginning of the game lvl 2 and everything wiped.

have you NEVER rested at an inn since that first time ?

I have not as I never played DD before and did not know that this could potentially be a game breaking mechanic in cases like this. I rested at camps I set up in the wild and spent time at Inns until mornings but that the only things I did.

It's so ridiculous... I literally lost all the will to start over again as I can't even imagine this happening to me again or randomly out in the world after even more hours of progress. And since I can't refund I will just uninstall and try to forget that money was wasted on this game.

Its EARLY BETA, of course its gunna have a few bugs, don't have to get all worried though. I fell forever too, hit escape, then you'll see an option in the lower right that says "hold x to unstuck", this will teleport you back to the starting point. Easy peasy

Not everybody plays the dev version, some people even dare to purchase this product. I know, it’s shocking. Nice necro .
