...the world it is in is supposed to be bleak and kind of hopeless. The palette reinforces that bleakness and sense of hopelessness.
I mean, they live in a world where it isn't even safe to travel a few miles to another little settlement without getting jumped by griffons, goblins, ogres and wyverns... and there is an immortal dragon stalking the world, randomly choosing people to become immortal dragon slayers to perpetuate a cycle of despair.
It ain't gonna look like My Little Pony, mate.
You can make a bleak and overall very desaturated game and still make it look great, and the first dishonoured game is the perfect example of that.
Talking up Elden Ring while trashing this game...
Yeah, somehow I am not surprised you have garbage taste in games.
Not every game has to be like Elden Ring, but Elden Ring is objectively superior to Dragons dogma 2 in every way. From Software also didn't feel the need to include scummy micro transactions because they actually believe in their own product.
Elden Ring is objectively inferior in every way. Graphics, gameplay, combat, storytelling (and DD storytelling is poor), art design...
From Soft hasn't made a good game in over a decade and a half.
