I didn't expect so many people to buy Dragon's Dogma 2
Seeing how bad the game is, I didn't expect so many people to buy it. 154k in game right now. And for it to have 45% positive on Steam. It's too high for what I have seen. It makes absolutely no sense to me.

The janky mouse controls, terrible performance with mediocre visual quality that does not justify it, always online (Denuvo), microtransactions, clunky 2 button spell casting system, bad camera that can clip through terrain, unable to edit your character after creation, downright broken AI, bland grey HUD in a fantasy RPG, washed out colors, 0 mod support (some say you can get banned for tampering with the game files, in a singleplayer video game).

I don't get the community's surprisingly positive response to Dragon's Dogma 2.

I don't get why you're posting here if you refunded the game.

You are currently on an online forum for discussing the video game called "Dragon's Dogma 2" in case you haven't noticed. This is the correct place for my post.

Sadly the Positive-Negative review system on Steam has turned into a basically useless feature. You have to really read them to see what reviews are real thoughful reviews and which are just trolling. If you do this it will help but often you will have to read about 20 of them to get one decent review.

Performance - fixable

MTX- bad for optic, yeah sure, but the core game is not design around it so why should I care? its for losers anyway.

Core game and world - solid

So yeah, is it so surprising not everyone jump in on the hate bandwagon?

Do you know that Cyberpunk 2077 broke an insane amount of record? The game that still dont have half of the promised content after two year and a paid DLC.
The game that had so much insane bug that if you looked at anyone play for dozen of hour you would regulary see things like car flying because of colision bug or NPC totaly disapearing.

People jump on any hype train, and here you have a LOT of people that rushed here to simp for capcom and review boost the game after they saw that people were not happy with such a poor release.

Believe it or not AAA multibillionaire companies can afford to positive review bomb a game. Check how many of those positive reviews have level 10 and under steam accounts, most are just lvl 0. All their profiles are fully private so you cant even tell how many games they own.

Its called botting, sorta, they hire third worlders to leave positive reviews, they can break even with the games their purchasing themselves. Kinda like how music record companies buy their own albums to inflate a musicians record sales, etc. They can afford to throw money away because eventually people will think the game is good with a mostly positive review score, and will buy it, eventually the company makes its money back, and more.

Yeah, core gameplay and world might be cool. In a predictable comfort food style like Kingdoms of Amalur. It was a good game with a bit of jank and some minor bugs that never got fixed even a decade later (why I don't believe in post launch support).

You play for a few hours and know what to expect from the rest of the game. But everything surrounding the core gameplay and world is just so broken.

You're not discussing the game.

You're just spamming the forum with another useless topic that is missinformed.

Weird how IMDB does not have this problem. The reviews I see there from users are actual reviews. With real sentences. People who say what they liked and did not like about the product. The reviews you see on IMDB are not some one liner troll joke like "keanu is in it" I saw so many times in the Cyberpunk reviews.

I still have CD Projeckt Red Blacklisted and would never trust them again with anything.

Larian did the same with BG3 but check all the Awards they got.

There is just too much Hypocrisy and Shadiness in this Industry since a lot of Corpos started involving themselves in Political Matters ( Worst Idea Ever ) and getting funded by certain Vampires from certain V.I.P. Clubs.

The janky mouse controls,

I've gotten very use to, and proficient with a gamepad, so mouse being janky doesn't really matter to me. I also don't complain about driving games being janky on a keyboard either. I go into it with that expectation.

This battle was lost well over a decade ago. For better or worse, Capcom has remained consistent in how they do it, in that it doesn't affect gameplay design at all and using Mtx cheapens\removes parts of the game, rather than add to it (in this case, by giving you an end-game item early, and\or, to skip the pawn-renting feature entierly).

Hell, the Ghost of Tsushima pre-order bonus is in the same ball-park. (giving you the NG+ bonus in NG).

Haven't played a mage, so no idea about this. Figther is fairly intuitive, especially coming from DD1, though I do miss shield abilities. But it's nice being able to hold the shield while prepping for an attack (like the dodge ability).

There's a barbershop in the capital that lets you edit your character\pawn. For full-editing, you need the art of metamorphisis(?), which can be bought in the pawn guild for a few RCs (200 iirc, you start with 1-2k).
