Denuvo is GOOD actually
Every good measure, tamper/crack protection or core isolation or whatever has a cost.
That doesn't necessarily make it bad. In fact, I actually think DENUVO has been kind of a blessing for PC gaming and here's why:

1️⃣ 𝗣𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱
🔸 Piracy or copy-without-permission is illegal, even though this rarely gets enforced. Denuvo helps in the fight for IP rights and ensures more people are willing to invest, innovate, and create new products.

2️⃣ 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
🔸 With rising game development costs, making it difficult for pirated copies to circulate means developers see better returns on investment which eventually supports game development.

3️⃣ 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿/𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴
🔸 There is only one surefire way to stop piracy - checking if your account already owns the game (i.e., always online multiplayers)
🔸 If we don't want PC gaming devolving into AAs which barely make money to keep studios afloat and AAAs purely focusing on always online looter shooters, reducing piracy is the only answer

4️⃣ 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝗖 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴
🔸 Denuvo anti-piracy helps boost the PC gaming by justifying large investments from publishers. PC ports of console games were a hard sell up until 2017 when Denuvo went uncracked for months or years and made PC game investments more feasible.
🔸 Gamers forget but console releases were a big thing prior to digital distribution (Steam) and good DRM and PC releases rarely moved multi-million units.

So, is Denuvo or any other DRM necessary? Personally, I'd say no. Games sell well if they provide value to gamers. All DRMs do is ensure that extra 5-10% sales that would've otherwise been lost to piracy.

While one can be sure that many people (if not most) will not be swayed by those arguments, at the very least, they can rest assured that if this game is successful enough, it will probably find its way to Good Old Games just like Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen did.
I'm okay with performance fact by Denuvo, but protect meh pirates will never buy a game in first place.

Pirates don't become buyers simply because malware has been attached to a program that makes it harder to pirate. They wait until its been cracked and pirate it then. Even funnier, the pirated version is vastly superior because it DOESN'T have denuvo attached to it. As someone in the cyber security field I can assure you its very high risk behavior to allow any program to have such sweeping administrative privileges over your personal computer and data. Not to mention the privacy issues and performance issues it causes. No, its not good, and it'll be a blessing when its finally dead and gone.

Exactly, pirates don't stop being pirates just because they have to wait a little longer. That's been proven ad nauseam. Denuvo exists because out of touch braindead executives still draw breath and refuse to retire.

1) Protection Against Piracy:
By making it more difficult for pirated copies to circulate, developers can potentially see better returns on their investment, which supports continued game development.

2) Preservation of Revenue:
With the increasing costs of game development, ensuring that developers can recoup their investments is crucial for the sustainability of the industry.

3) Maintain Artistic Vision:
Piracy can create a distortion in how the art is perceived as users can simply use trainers and cheats to play the game different from the artists intended vision. Denuvo helps artists realize their creation.

4) Support for PC Gaming:
Denuvo defense against piracy and tampering helps sustain the PC gaming ecosystem by protecting the interests of developers

first point seems kinda null given the massive lay offs happening in the industry despite game piracy steadily declining

point 3 is absolutely absurd. IF you pay for something you should have the right to use it as you desire especially when it is advertised as a single player offline game. Imagine buying a vacuum and getting in ♥♥♥♥ for using it in your car when it was intended for the house only. My god imagine if console commands or cheats and mods wheren't allowed on Skyrim because the "vision" the devs had didn't allow it.

Denuvo was cracked years ago, it makes piracy slightly more annoying for about 1-2 months.

They don't get rid of denuvo now, they inject enigma lol
Denuvo is anti-user, and piracy don't kill a product, Steam is the very proof of that. You offer a good product/service, you'll get money; if anything, piracy can help to preserve a game that otherwise would never be playable again.

The only person that was actually cracking it disappeared. The last Denuvo game that was cracked was Last Judgment last August.

Weak bait. Try harder.

Can wait a month or two

Is this ragebait? Most people who pirate are people who cant afford the game, most other people with a job will just pay for it.

In return you lose those people talking about the game and telling people that they like it which is free viral marketing that can contribute to the game's success.

Denuvo just loses them money and worsens their reputation.
