PC Upgrade Suggestions with DD2 in mind?
My current build is

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
BIOS: MSI B450 Tomohawk Max
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (x2 8GB cards)
SSD: Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB M2
GPU: Red Dragon OC Radeon RX 6800
PSU: Corsair CV650

I see some people bragging about being able to run this game well in here, so I want to know what CPUs actually would work well with my GPU. Ideally I would like to spend under $400 for a CPU but I'm open to guidance.

Ideally, best upgrade you can do, is a 5800x3d. It's simply the best gaming cpu for that chipset.

But don't expect miracles. The game has serious performance issues on all systems.

Depends on you budget. Personally I’d replace everything except for perhaps the hard drive and possibly the ram depending on how fast it is.

patience. i'd wait for the inevitable post release optimization patch and surely both Nvidia and AMD will drop driver updates of their own with this game as part of the release notes.

Yeah that model does come up frequently as a “here’s what to buy next” option for my pc. Although I usually play older games 90% of the time so I rarely have the urge to upgrade it.

It’s funny because this build has never faced trouble with running games at high-max settings like the RE4 and Dead Space remakes. Even Helldivers, although I experience some drops when there’s too much action on screen.

was gonna upgrade myself in a few months but this game has me ready to hit the button on that early. Suppose it doesn't hurt since nothing new is coming at least for half a year.

Nah you’re right, I wager that we’ll see a big update or patch in a month’s time.
For now I’ve set my CPU to Auto-OC and set the DD2.exe to high priority which has smoothed SOME of the performance.

this is easy - go on amazon/newegg/etc sort from highest price to lowest price CPUs, take x amount of money you have and line it up with the highest CPU you can afford - buy that one / find matching mobo

Oh, I am also getting some new ram sticks tomorrow to boost it to 32 gigs of memory. Probably won’t affect much but hey it’s a start.

Geez is the b450 really that out of date? Admittedly I bought that before quarantine so it’s probably ancient by now.

That's because - as everyone keeps crying about - the game is horrendously optimized.

You'd be silly to spend over a thousand dollars upgrading your PC for no reason when Capcom is going to be releasing optimization patches in the coming weeks.

Countless games have post launch performance issues. They always have. They also always get patched. This is standard and it is common practice. Everyone knows this.

Ya'll need to calm yo tiddes.

yeah but to be fair most games DON'T HAVE THE GROUND VANISH due to older hardware.
