The difference between DA and D2 is the leveling range is flatter and endgame weapons hit WAY harder, and your overall points are spread between class switches, but the each level differently, and you simply have to note how to pick the one you want.
(you want the one with the most equal point spread so you can do anything reliably late game)
Ok so it still works like DDDA except stat increases per level up as less powerful and weapons/gear are more important.
So I need to think a little more then playing warrior the entire game lol
Idk, so far the game is pretty easy imo, but its still very fun. My other question is besides trial and error, does the game even tell the player how much each class boosts the stats during level up? If not no one will know until some die hard does the leg work and makes a guide or something.
It says "Unlike in the first game, your character's stats will adjust themselves depending on your equipped Vocation. If you're a Lvl 30 Arisen Thief, for example, and you switch to the Sorcerer Vocation, your stats will shift more towards the Magick side of things. "
So if the above statement is right you can level a warrior 40 levels but if you switch to a sorcerer you stats will auto adjust to a sorc.
Idk I'm still confused so I will mess around with the vocations myself to see if I can make some sense out of this lol.
I have a level 22 Warrior with the following stats: Str: 390, Def: 420, and Mag: 43
I swap back to Fighter and I have the following stats: Str: 155, Def: 407, and Mag: 53
So just from this little test your stats COMPLETELY change depending on the vocation you select and there is no indicator that the stat gains from your previous class actual roll over.
Idk there is so much not explained that I have really no idea how the stats work in this game lol, Also what is "Base stats"? As these also change after switching vocation lol.
its just tied to lvl weapons and armor now
changed from sorc to warrior and yeah vocation leveling doesn't matter, which is amazing.
stats for 20lvl no equipment:
-----------------------sorc------WARRIOR
Strength ------------- 69 ------ 149
Defense -------------- 70-------105
Magick -------------- 194-----104
Magick Defense- ---- 162------ 92
Knockdown Power--- 39 ------- 39
Knockdown Res------50----- 400
The bright side is you still ahve to level other classes, so you can get the augments to improve your build. For example I'm maining Warrior but I noticed the thief class has a stength boosting aug, so I;m leveling that class to be able to slap that on my warrior for more damage ;)
The old systems had its strengths and it flaws, but honestly I wish this auto leveling stuff was done away with and see got proper stat allocation points to spec how we want. Still I very much enjoy the game even with its differences to DDDA.
