Timed quests and items with a lifespan are creating undo stress on the player
Right now I think I'm having an issue with the pacing of anything with a timer on it in the game.

I like the concept of having time sensitive quests and items that degrade, but this concept should be implemented in a way that does not cause undo stress on the player.
Regarding consumables, I appreciate that fruit and meat will go bad over time if left unused but going from regular to ripe to ruined in the span of 20-30 minutes of game play is plain ridiculous. I'm very early in the game of course but already considering not picking meat or fruit up at all as it feels like a wasted effort.

Have not gotten too far into questing yet but already had enough to feel like I'm constantly stressing over weather a quest might have a timer or not largely due to the extremely short span before "failure". I do appreciate the timers being based in game time and not real world as I can see resting at an inn 100 times should have bearing. At the same time I do not want to spend my personal time worrying that I cannot stop by the armory to see whats for sale lest I miss my timers.

Some of this is definitely personal play style. I'm usually multitasking while gaming (stop for 10-20 min to cook a meal / eat while playing / take the dogs out / clean up / bathroom / phone calls / focus on whats on TV for a few minutes / etc.). All of which works against having a short or unforgiving timer in a game.

From my own perspective I would really like to see these timers stay in game but at a much slower pace or much longer duration before having an affect on the result.
Anyone else experiencing this?

This is why the storage feature at an inn is so important; you can deposit your items in it and they won't expire.

I agree with you, btw. Just giving a tip on how to better cope with that mechanic.

Just craft the time sensitive materials into things that don't go bad

Timed quests are a problem if you use guides and spoil the game to begin with.

The second issue though is that there are no save slots in the game so you can't do a "perfect save" after the fact, it's the one reason why I don't have 600 hours in DD1 instead of 100+ only, not willing to ruin my minmaxed MagKnight lol

Stop stressing and let live my guy

Thanks for that advice! Did not realize the stash bypassed the timers and had not considered doing some quick crafting as I get perishables to offset. Does not eliminate the issues but anything that alleviates definitely helps!

Timed quests aren't the greatest but just stop accepting so many quests. I've been going straight to the timed quests when I pick one up, so I never have more than one. Nothing has been that far away yet. They even have tips that make it seem like the developer wants this, to discourage picking up 50 quests at a time. Not saying I agree with it, but it hasn't been that bad yet.

Not picking up multiple quests. My issue is more that at any point after I have picked up the timed quest I will either choose to or have to (pick one or multiple) take care of my dogs, get/cook food, take a phone call, bathroom, watch some of what is on the TV next to me, take out the trash, check my business emails, etc. . Any of these may range from 5 - 55 minutes and I cannot always predict the required time or exactly when they might occur. Also no interest in constantly having to shut the program down every time one or more of these occur. If the timed quests allow for multiple hours of real time to pass before it has an affect I should be fine, if not I'm likely to get the negative effects nearly every time.
I do like the concept and agree it does and probably should discourage just grabbing everything mindlessly. Just hoping there will be an update or mod that will significantly increase the time allowed so I'm not trying to compromise my real life or way I play to accommodate the timers.
