Microtransactions, fast travel lies and how capcom played us all
I do not intend to troll, just point out some inconsistency. Please elaborate why game director while discussing fast travel was going on about how fast travel ruin the experience and that game should be fun enough to encourage player not to even think about fast travel and now, on a release we get portcrystals as a paid DLC?

I was waiting for release but in the end I decided only to download the game and leave it for the morning. Before I went to sleep DD2 had 100% positive reviews and when I woke up it nose dived into mostly negative and now sits at mixed.

Why is a single player game getting so many microtransactions? THIS is ruining the experience, not the fast travel which absence was boasted before the release only to end up as a paid convenience but forcing your petty cash shop into a S I N G L E P L A Y E R game. Is 80$ not enough? Fine, then price it higher but deliver a COMPLETE product instead of treating us like some mobile gaming addicts who can't wait to push the "buy" button while hoovering over the cash shop.

I was KINDA able to understand some microtransactions in MHW as it at least had a CO-OP functions, still a massive cashgrab but despite slippery slope it was understandable. But this? Until today I have never imagined that Capcom would fail to deliver a complete product like that. Looks like you really either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain.
I really shouldn't have played Baldur's Gate 3 as it really set unachievable expectations.

wtf are you talking about? The dlc's are an option for the people who doesn't care about money... Portcrystals are optainable ingame without any damn problem. They also don't cost a fortune ingame.... I'ts literally the same like in Dragons Dogma 1. Jesus Christ can you please think and research before posting such nonsense?

none of the transactions are particular difficult to get in game. Compaines exist to make money. If someone wants to spend cash to skip or "cheat" a part in a non-competitive game, let them. The items in the dlc list are way easier to get in game that super credits in helldivers 2 and no there is no where near the backlash there...

yea yea, "whats to stop the company from patching drop rates to force us".

whats to stop someone from objectively looking at what is offered, how it is gained in game and maybe chill out over something trivial?

Please tell me, is your reading comprehension on an elementary level or something? I'm perfectly aware that it is obtainable in game. I'm pointing out that THERE IS A CASH SHOP IN A SINGLE PLAYER GAME. Stop acting like a Capcom bot who can't simply face the truth.

Fast travel and option to fast travel unlock free in first main city in game. Like in first game you need buy for ingame currency - golds ferrystones and portal stones to place them whenever you want to port with those stones. Buying that with real money is only faster way how to get that

And buying that with real money should not be an option in a SINGLEPLAYER GAME.

Its Oblivion horse armour all over again, give it a few years and we will have full blown stamina systems in single player games.

I agreed with most of your statement until you brought up MHW? Seriously, what in the world are talking about that the game was a Cash Grab? You literally earned the BEST Gears/Outfits/Transmogs in the game.

Literally anything that was "paid" for was complete trash in comparison to what you got in the game, and 99.9% of the pieces were earned in-game, not through payment...SMDH.

Lastly, DD2 IS a complete product, it's just not a Well Optimized product at the moment.

Of course microtransactions are bad, especially for a $70 singleplayer game. No matter the slippery slope, it's terrible for the industry and consumer. However, I wouldn't say that it ruined the game's experience. What matters is whether the game is fun and enjoyable or not. From what I've seen, the game is quite complete for people who don't care about microtransactions. The microtransactions are just conveniences that you can get easily just by playing the game.

Devil may cry red orb bundles, they've been there for a very long time, even dmc4 has them on steam.

Same deal here, just different items.

For perspective i do agree its disgusting that this game has in game cash shop with fast travel item and change appearance item etc. Like i personally hate this.

But this game has no systems what i have noticed what forces player get these in game. Like me lacking quick travel in game has not ruined my experience so far. Even if streets are full of enemies. Also i have so far not noticed single good use for my crystals as you earn them in game and only thing i would get if needed is stronger spawn. I´m not sure if after first NG+ you can earn more stuff with rift crystal what is literally toxic i will rant as well...

But so far my biggest issue in game is simply optimation... CPU bottleneck is so toxic for me and cause other freezes when fps drops under 40... Looks awful when playing near cities or lot of open area. But in wilderness its good looking.

Companies exist to give us a product, the product for capsom is a game. If they start seperating ♥♥♥♥ off a product and asking extra money then they are money-hungry ♥♥♥♥♥. really? charging money for fast-trave? you get that ♥♥♥♥ for free in starfield.

This is not "ingame" it's a "dlc" possible because of the system how steam operates... or do you have a interface in the game to purchase this? There is just an api wich connects to another api and changes the database entry which gets you the damn thing ingame.

It's a damn option via steam

Isn't it way better that they have micro transactions in a single player game? Since you won't feel pressured by competition to buy them. If anything they should make them illegal in multiplayer games.

To be fair I didn't use portacrystal until 8 hours in. And that's just because I was feeling lazy. I like to explore

Maybe "cash grab" is too much because I absolutely love MHW yet the sole existence of microtransactions was a bit stingy. I mentioned that it was understandable so there's no point in bringing this up tbh
