if he's talking about Ancestral Cavern then the ladder is too high to throw anything at. Not sure how to solve this as a fighter with no ranged abilities or attacks...
I tried to levitate up there but I can't quite make it. Even with a light carry load.
Also wondering about how to open the doors that block the cave. It's a real pain to reach the elven city without that route being open. I've blown most of my travel stone whatevers.
Designing things so you find the exits first is not great game design IMO. But they do have the workarounds (I wonder if that was even intended though)
1 ; Ask to a pawn (saying "Go") who are a warrior with the "Shield jump" move.
2 : Ask to a pawn (saying "Go") who are a champion with the "Sword jump" move.
3 : Use the harpy special item to call one, and catch it to fly.
Also you can't enter the cave from that side. you can only enter from the other side at night since it's the only way to get enemies to spawn (Skeletons) who will break it trying to get to you. then you go in and break the other door leading to the cliff and ladder.
I have both the forward lunge and the straight-up jump attack (the extended versions too), but without a valid target I can't get the lunge to aim above the ground. The jump attack is worthless because you can't grab anything. I also can't throw a pawn that far up, and being launched by them doesn't help. I'll try the locked door on the other side again. At this point it hardly matters because I've done all the quests in the area and I already have access to better gear than the elven shops offer. It's something that would've been nice to have much earlier.
