Temporary missing floor fix solution

hi guys,

I encountered the missing floor almost everywhere and saw a lot of people got the same issue no matter the specs so here's what user ebinjorma on reddit posted:

i figured out a temporary fix atleast for my setup. Go to your games installation folder and find DD2.exe --> right click --> properties --> compatibility --> run this program in compatibility mode for windows 8. That fixed the issue for me atleast. I also Disabled fullscreen optimizations and ran the program as administrator but that is not required.

Worked for a lot of people on the post so it should be working until we got an official fix.

I didnt think of changing to 7, my game runs much smoother now too. Thanks for the tip :)

I Toggled Win8 Compatability mode off on the steam client's .exe file and the missing floor and wall textures loaded properly, give that a go

Win8 made it even worse for me. Now the main menu screen has almost NO textures loaded at all. Also getting some weird rainbow artifacts during intro splash screens.

i just posted this on reddit as well in someones thread...
I was getting black sky and invisible water and part of terrain since this morning, after playing perfectly fine yesterday with no problems at all.

amd ryzen something i dont remember , 4070 TI , 64gb ram , had black sky and invisible water all of a sudden over night.
I dont know exactly if its me fiddling around with nvidia control panel 3d settings , or if i
had troubles with read/write permissions on a windows level

but going to my steam.exe file and going into properties -> security -> and editing the permissions for "ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES" and "ALL RESTRICTED APP PACKAGES" to include the "modify" and "write" permission seems to have magically made the sky and water appear again?!
