arachnophobia warning?
before I consider buying, I must know does this game contain spiders?

before anyone comments subjectively with ridicule, I’ll provide this quick paraphrased explanation from someone who explained the phobia perfectly:

“Being wary of certain creatures is normal for most people. But what a phobia is, is an irrational fear. Elevation of heart rate, shallow breathing and what I can best describe as not having total control of my own self. My brain exaggerates the danger to the point of removing control from me and giving it over to the same reflex as when you touch a hot stove and pull your hand away (which is normally an involuntary action).

The 2nd thing that happens is that my brain will fixate on seeing a spider to the point that my anxiety elevates and I develop a paranoia about one being near me. This is why it doesn't matter if it's in a game or a movie, because the brain develops a paranoia about a real one existing until I basically have to wait for my brain to forget that it saw a spider.”

The first one did, I suspect this one will as well.

Don't know if any are in game as not yet had chance to play. I have had a look in the settings and there is no option to turn them off or change them to something else if they do exist.
avoiding contexts in which you are confronted with your fears will make your phobia worse and worse. i know it's easy to say, but confronting yourself with spiders in video games is a perfect exercise :) trust yourself, you can do it!

Video games have managed to reduce thet phobia for me by at least 50%.

Don't run from your fears man. Confront them. Add more spiders to your games!

Oh yikes, that sounds scary. I never knew it was that bad for people.

I've never experienced that, despite my phobias. I have been diagnosed by so many people on line as having! But I don't get to the severity like you. I just make a face like I'm disgusted and people get angry at me.

I guess that is how I react to my phobias. o_o Everyone is different, I suppose.

Arachnophobia "isn't real".

Spiders are valid. You are committing literal genocide by denying them their existence.

thanks for checking at least!
Usually safe to assume a medieval fantasy world has big spiders.

yea unfortunately it is that bad for me and some others; it is scary, not the spiders but the phobia itself. it’s a horrible psychological experience that i’m better off just avoiding then risking a heart attack lol

it’s a safe assumption which is why I asked instead of buying, but Elden Ring amongst other games of such have had none so no harm in asking.

Imagine having a phobia instead of the very real and valid fear of your own eventual death.

Is he supposed to have a panic attack when his hp gets low or something?

I agree, I have a severe phasmophobia and I am literally addicted to playing games or watching movies with ghosts, like Fatal Frame or The Eye because it’s thrilling to stimulate your phobia.

I can’t wrap my mind around how that arachnophobia works; a spider is on a screen, and? I know that having your phobia object on screen isn’t scary at all compared to seeing them IRL or expecting to see them in my case. But specifically arachnophobes seem to be the only ones being the most loud/visible/bothered for some reason.
