Pawn name changes to moniker if you change to a language different from the one when you first created them
As the title says, seems like a weird bug. I had the game in the language my friends were familiar with because I was streaming, then I changed back to english when I wanted to play alone. Now my pawn's name is set to the moniker as if the name doesn't exist. Very annoying and there doesn't seem to be any way to fix it without resetting the save file. If anyone knows of a way to fix this I'd appreciate it. I hope other people find this problem too because tbh it's a very specific one lol

The whole moniker system was horrible i wish they would have just removed it on PC or something. I always just named my pawn their moniker to keep them from having a fragmented soul

That's what it was... I changed language to see how some translations fared compared to english and I noticed the moniker was on after that.

This is some annoying bug.

Yeah I just noticed that, also I noticed that on my native language other pawns names are their monikers, but I can see my real name, and on english it's the opposite, I can see other pawns real names, but me and my pawn are stuck with the monikers

Fun fact some words in other languages could be slurs in another one, it's pretty common actually. Which make me think this is actually working as intended.

god that would be painful. I hope we get to change the pawn name at some point if that's the case.

DD1 already had a proper solution for this with parental control that would change all online pawns to their Moniker. This is a terrible solution because since this game has a awesome character creator, and many people are making recognizable pawns and naming them accordingly, and I can't see that name if that pawn was made in a different language than mine, even MY pawn is affected by this if I change my language, it's really bad.

same thing... i literally created Guts on my second account so i could use it, along with anyone else who wants to have him as a pawn... but when i created him, i was playing it in another language, i didn't know about this before... so when i set it back to english, his name changed.. i tried changing the language of steam itself, tried changing my pawn's appearance in a barber shop, nothing seems to work, unless i set it to the specific language i was playing at the moment i created it... this really sucks

if it's still happening then it's probably working as intended sadly. I was "lucky" and only played the game for some 10 hours, so I ended up just resetting my save. It really sucks tho and honestly feels really stupid.
