We only have ONE SAVE because of MTX

The lack of local saving is likely the byproduct of the "not that serious" MTX. Just because you can technically earn what you can buy doesn't change the fact that they compromised your singleplayer game out of liquid greed.

I'm surprised the game didn't come with a kernel level anti-cheat to keep us from "cheating" in our own singleplayer worlds too.

The lack of multiple save files is to keep players from spamming the Pawn network with Pawns they're not actually using, so that everyone has a chance to have their Pawn rented. The first game was the same way.

I don’t give a ♥♥♥♥ there is one save file, the issue is you can’t even start a new game or delete your file within the game. This is utterly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ inexcusable. And even if you go through the extra hoops to delete it manually it still has repercussions that can ♥♥♥♥ up your game.

It's all server-side, you aint backing up anything bucko. You can't even delete your save.

there should be NO microtransactions in a 70.00+ game that is single player period. IT is a virtual no value nickel and dime tactic on things that cost them nothing. THat is why many game companies get sued and lose money then complain development costs them so much.
should be multiple game saves and easy ability to start over, or the product is not as advertised and incomplete.

Or... the system they use to save your character data and main pawn data on their servers links at a profile level for console, and they did the same for Steam without thinking about the inability to just create another profile to have a separate save.

disable cloud and delete save from file then make a new character and save. yes it's annoying but it works
