Do I need to pay real money to edit my character appearance?

I see lots of people saying it costs 2$ to edit your character and I refuse to believe a triple A singleplayer RPG would do something like this....is what I see on the reviews true?

EDIT: So it is obtainable in game too? Okay...I'll wait and see if they fix their current issues and how easy it is to obtain that book without paying and MAYBE I'll buy the game. Thank you for your answers folks !

EDIT2: one other thing that has me concerned is a camping tent being in the DLC section. Apparently you need to buy it to also make it available in the game....is that tent like one of those must-have items that ruin the game for you if you don't buy it like in some mmo's or I can just ignore it?

The game is kind of turning me off at this point tbh...

You will find this book in game for free many places. But if you don't want to find one(if you used up all the ones you had) then you can buy this book instead. Honestly not that bad since its free with a little look around the game world. As long as it is not pay to win I don't really care. Pay for convenience is ok in my book.

People are not reading. You can get them in game as well. Just like in DDA

They should not have released this as DLC gives people the wrong impressions.
It will be a right turn off for a lot of people who are thinking of buying this game.
I'm highly recommend Capcom removing this from the store.
it will affect their sales in the big way.
A lot of people will put a negative reviews about the game because of this DLC.

It's a quick-fix MTX. You can either play the game to get currency normally who pay two dollars to get it right away.

I agree, That is what is happening. I had to put that in a ton of topics. Capcom really screwed up and people are freaking out with misunderstanding. It's pay for convenience, but I guess this is the game industry fault. People have lost trust.

Literally me right now, i'm on the fence on buying it until i know if all this stuff is true or not ¬¬ so many posts saying so much stuff!

Selling character appearance editor in a $70 game is really greedy, can't blame people reactions even if the item is available in game. It paints a very bad impression for potential buyers.
