Is it a fact that you must pay 2 dollars to edit my charachters appearance
Im somone who enjoys to RP in games and being able to go in during the middle of a play through and add scars to my character or give myself a longer beard style isn't the most important thing in the world to have but if its available its something im going to want to utalize.

So, will i need to pay 2 bucks in order to do that after paying 70 for a single player game?

Not concerned anymore. I can go back to being hyped to play DD2 once i finish DD1 ;D

I was worried about this too, so I looked it up. Apparently you can buy the Art of Metamorphosis in-game with Rift Coins. Rift coins can be earned in-game by:

- Activating Forgotten Riftstones for the first time.
- Having another player go on an adventure with your pawn.
- Defeating certain specter-type enemies at night, such as Phantoms and Liches.

So it seems like most of the micro-transactions just allow you to skip the in-game grind of farming these rift coins, by either directly purchasing them, or the items you can buy with them.
So if i just play the game naturally i'll earn these coins? I tend to be a completionist anyways so i dont mind earning a currency to alter my appearance AS LONG AS its not a crazy amount. If i can farm for an hour an obtain enough to alter my appearance one time then i think that would be fair (imo of course)

Yes. You'll also find small quantities of RCs as loot occasionally from random mobs if its anything like the first game.
The expansion DLC for the first one also had a zone where it was super easy to farm RCs.

There is nothing in the MTX that you can get naturally by playing the game.
I don't like seeing them as MTX, But its also the completely harmless variety.

Easiest way to get RCs is always going to be just by making a good pawn and letting your pawn be hired.
WHen i replayed the first one recently, a friend had used my Pawn for a bit. I logged into a fresh character to over 100k RCs lol

Note: This consumable item is also obtainable in-game.
This item cannot be gifted to other online players.
After purchase, the content will appear in your in-game storage after staying at an inn. Speak to an innkeeper to view your storage.
You cannot change your race and body type.

Not a fan of MTX but it's in the game to earn also.

It's not the 1st or 2nd time Capcom did this...

None of this requires a purchase... this is all stuff you can get in game.

The option to bypass in-game acquisition of items by spending actual money exists, therefor people must be angry.
I may be becoming senile, and memory loss could be a byproduct, but I don't seem to recall people flipping out over character edit vouchers in the past few Monster Hunter games.
It's just this week's hate train. Battlefront Classic Collection lost its glimmer.

I am hoping that this game will get Save Editors pretty quickly like the first game did. And then absolutely anything about the character will be changeable.
I expect there will also be all sorts of funny limitations on what does or doesn't count as a modified pawn and lots of stuff will become unavailable for hire online... but we can work out how to deal with that when we get to it.

Its not a big deal if obtaining the currency while playing takes no more then an hours to farm for one character alteration

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
