Any game with a character creator, I always accept the defaults and jump right in for exactly this reason. Bang through the tutorial area, get out into the open world and run around as much as possible to really get a sense of the game.
Restarting after two hours and taking your time isn't that bad. :)

Sure, but you can also spend this time in the released game to create the character from scratch and not importing the one from char creator
