You WILL need an SSD for this game.
I know there are some people out there still actually gaming on HDD's. You're in for a bad time even if your CPU and GPU are up for it.

If you're still playing with an HDD in 2024, you won't be able to play current games, that's just the way it is. The rest of the hardware is probably 10 years old, so the games that require an SSD won't run anyway

is it bad like starfield? that garbage game forced you to use an ssd or else the whole game stutters for no damn reason.

imagine not using an SSD they are cheap these days. though probably the same people upset windows 7 isnt a thing anymore

Imagine playing on an HDD in 2020 and beyond when SSD is the single most cost-efficient upgrade you can have if you are still on HDD.

You can get 500 GB sata SSD for $50. So even an old toaster can get a good upgrade for $50 if you are really strapped for cash.

Use the HDD for storage. No excuse to actually run software from HDD these days.

open world games now all require an ssd, you can't expect a good performance on a lowly HDD.

Anybody still gaming on an HDD is like 10 years behind the curve, SSD's have drastically come down in price and pretty much every game coming out has an SSD listed as a minimum requirement.

Yep. Starfield was full of copium threads of people wanting to run it on an HDD. SSD's are so cheap nowadays there's no reason to be using an HDD other than the refusal to switch for some odd reason.

it runs fine on HDD high settings wtf are u talking about lmao

Don't usually both responding to stuff this dumb or this late but a Raptor HDD on Sata3 is literally faster than any SSD under 200 bucks and has the same warranty level and larger active cache.

what's to special about a SSD nowdays? a HDD would be more uncommon.

Post your HDD that has 7GB/sec read/write please.

EDIT: Wait you said faster, so make that 7.5GB/sec.

I do have a HDD... for older games as it's relatively cheap and still good enough for games older than 4-5 years barring some exceptionally large ones maybe. Anything new goes on SSD.

Raptor HDD on Sata3 is literally faster than any SSD under 200 bucks and has the same
Protip: the speed benchmarks of those are usually peak optimal condition data like sequentially reading a single huge file linearly arranged on physical disc space. Your uber HDD is barely 30% faster than my humble but reliable WD Blue for 10x the price, and that means it's still ages behind my slowly aging Samsung Evo SSD.

You don't have an SSD with 7-10 read/write either, because as soon as you start loading said drive with actual apps your magic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ speed stops existing.

My 990 pro is actually faster than my sabrent XXXXUBERGAMERDRIVEXXXX gen 5 with it's own pcie lanes because the numbers you think are realtime are synthetic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on an empty drive with only windows and a junk data file used for benching installed.

Maybe use a real world example next time.

So lets just unpack here.

You make an objectively incorrect, and quite frankly absurd claim, then get called out on it so you resort to flaming. Got it.

Maybe keep in your box next time kid and stop coping with your decades old hardware.

Also, yes my SSD is 7GB read/write, it's not unheard of and hasn't been for a few years. Maybe you should upgrade from 2012?

Maybe they like the constant VRRRRRRR when gaming?

Well I'd recommend getting a floppy drive then, nothing quite like the loud BRRRRRRRRRRT CLACK CLACK CLACK when seeking a bunch of files
