Denuvo is an anti-tamper/anti-piracy measure. People hate it because it prevents them from stealing the game, but it's illegal to say they want to steal the game so they lie and pretend it's a performance issue.

Denuvo is hard DRM. It stops you from being able to modify the game to run it without feedback from a server so eventually once their servers die the game won't even run. It does this by encrypting the game code while you're running it so your CPU is actively working against you.

Prevents games being pirated because some people are too poor to buy them.

It's basically a "tool" that makes piracy harder (but not impossible) to the cost of making the game run like the console version.

most people don't know anything about it, it takes ressources and they jumped on the train, truth is denuvo is good protecting the funds of devs by making it harder to crack

First part is true, the second is absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I have a very mid range pc and 100% of the time that someone claims that Denuvo cuts their FPS in half and other ridiculous claims like that, my pc gets 60 FPS no issues.

People need to understand their hardware instead of talking ♥♥♥♥ lmao.

Denuvo is security that complicates software piracy. Pirates hate things that impede them. They will often devise long, wordy and exaggerated justifications for their dislike of things that impede them. The only thing they enjoy more than stealing software, is arguing about how bad things are that impede them.

Denuvo doesn't even impede pirates. Literally every Denuvo game gets cracked. All Denuvo does is hurt the consumers that actually pay for the game.

Except it factually doesn't and it's been proven over and over again. Sorry you guys can't pirate software lol

Denuvo has been very effective in impeding pirates actually, most of the legacy scene is gone because of it. Only recently did you have one dedicated person who was able to work around it and they are no longer active either. It's not right to say it doesn't work as it's probably the most effective software DRM to ever exist.

Ignition locks don't even impede car thieves. Literally every make of car gets stolen.

Except Denuvo typically gets removed from games after a certain amount of time, depending on publisher. Sometimes 6 months to a year. Other Capcom games often keep it until the content cycle is over. It is primarily to prevent an enormous amount of piracy around launch, and it is not worth the continued cost to developers once sales have mostly plateaued.
