Perma death for pawns?
Can your pawns permanently die, and can every NPC in the game permanently die as well?

Pawns no. NPC's yes would need to use a rare "wakestone" to revive them but have limited time to do it.

Pawns aren't really people they can't die.

Pawns are immortal, but they also kinda lack free will, if a pawn dies, it just returns to the rift, and can be summoned again. Npcs are mortal and tend to stay dead.

your pawn can be defeated in combat, but u can "resurrect" your pawn in riftstone

So if a pawn dies you are essentially out a member of your party until you get to a riftstone?

Not sure if we'll get a definite answer until after the game comes out. All anyone here can do is make a guess based on the first game

Ask again in 10 days?

If a pawn goes to zero HP, you can still revive it.
If your pawn dies completely ( falling into water for example ), it will respawn next to you when you interact with a riftstone.

Is a touchstone different than a riftstone?

Edited to "Riftstone".
Got confused with VtM's "Touchstones".

If main pawn dies, you can get them back by finding a riftstone.
When secondary pawns (that you find from riftstone or wandering the world) die, they'll disappear from your party along with items they've held, if they're player pawns you can find and hire them again in the riftstone, but usually it's just better (unless you're max level) to hire a new one since they do not level up with you and your MP.

Frankly, we dont know.

considering what the Pawn is in lore, their Permanent death is almost assuredly not going to be a thing.

for NPCs.. well, the 1st game had them come back after x amount of days.. but who knows how the new one handles it.

npc death in dragons dogma 2 is permanent... however you can use one of your wakestones to revive them as long as you do it within a few days of them dying by visiting the morgue... if you wait too long the npc will be gone forever.

Is there enough information out right now to know if save scumming will be a thing? I'm not big on perma death at all and honestly might be a deal breaker for me. I understand that there are in game ways to bring people back. But in the event that I'm not able to can I at least reload a previous save?

There's absolutely no way to know this for another 10 days. None of us have played Dragons Dogma 2.

If it's a dealbreaker for you, don't buy the game until you find out, which isn't possible for another 10 days
