The point is to swipe your credit card for a mediocre game that COULDVE been great, but greed, woke, denuvo, enigma, blackrock, vanguard. All of it. Capcom is rip man.
Biggest selling point I guess is better action than a game like, say, Gothic or Risen series. And if there's a giant monster, you can grapple and climb onto them in order to stab them with whatever you've got available.
....And yeah I played the first, and why would I be in this discussion channel if I wasn't planning on playing it...?
- Action based RPG (containing some interesting physics elements) with decent party based combat with AI companions.
- Decent mechanics for character progression and loot itemization along with character creation.
- Relatively sizeable open-world you can explore with a good degree of freedom.
- Good mix of playstyles supported by the vocations in the game (melee/ranged/magic + hybrids).
- Ability to play with the companions that other people used.
- Ability to grab, throw and climb on enemies in addition to the typical basic/special/ultimate attacks.
- Game has dragons in it.
As far as the point of the game, it has a reasonably lengthy main story with some degree of relationship development possible with a variety of NPCs, including those in your party. You leave Festy out of this
It's a Fournival dating sim, masquerading as an action game.
The classic that just keeps coming back.
"What is your purpose here arisen?"
"Amma here to save a clown"
If you played any Capcom game you'd learn very quickly they make some of the best combat in video games imo. From DMC to MH to Street Fighter to RE. They know how to make games fun.
