Vocations
No more strider ? No more magic knight ? No more assassin ? Those where the only one i liked (even if i was super bad at blocking with the right timing using mk) and the new vocations looks pretty bad to me or maybe i'm wrong and those where just not added to the trailers ? A bow and a Sword seemed to be all that was needed to have fun in the first one where did it go wrong ? I don't wan't to play a fighter without shield that run to the Inn to change class each time i meet a flying ennemi dammit :(

There's no official strider, assassin, or mystic knight, but you can mix and match weapons as a Warfarer to kind of get those vocations back.

EDIT* Warfarer = Jack-of-all-trades vocation.

Honestly, I'm more excited to see how all of the vocations handle, over picking a favorite before I even play.

i'm pretty sure this thing won't enable me to adds the strider, assassin, or mystic knight skills to the game since well... the vocations don't even exist in it, like dire gouge/deadly gouge/powder barrage
on top of that you get less stats than other vocations and it doesn't even look like a proper vocation to be honest it really looks like an excuse to not add more "real" vocations to the game :/

mystic knight was fun tho, i don't think it's comparable to jumping around and teleporting everywhere with a bladed stick, that's why i think both vocation could've been in the game without any real trouble

I'd imagine, given what Warfarer is, it'll be a mid-late game vocation anyway. So unless they changed how leveling works so that stats reallocate when you change vocations, then start with a vocation that gives you the stats you're looking for in strider, or mystic knight, for example, and level with those before you go warfarer. The did add a couple of classes. The mystic spearhand and the perfumer(or whatever it's called) : / I think they did quite well in their decisions though, but that's just my opinion. You are free to have your own opinion though.

We don't know that for skills. Assassin skills could very well be ported to thief.
As for knight shield spells, most of them are the same spell with just the element changing, so maybe a fighter with a unique shield counter skill that would change behavior depending on the elemental buff on it could exist.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves when we don't even have the skill list.

yeah, i think it's better to cancel my order and just wait for the game to come out and see, better be carefull with games nowaday, especially when it feels like a downgrade of the system instead of an upgrade :/ (dire gauge is a sword skill btw thief uses daggers ? or is it the one that use the bow ? i don't understand why they just broke strider "i have a bow i'm too dumb to use daggers" they could add it to fighter maybe :mhwgood: but fighter's supposed to be a tank... argh i don't understand anything anymore )

I mean, honestly, it's your choice, but I think you are making a mistake. I don't pay attention to reviews and other things like that to influence my ability to decide for myself. Granted, I've looked at gameplay for plenty of games and thought I might enjoy them, bought them, and was mistaken in my decision, but that's part of the game we play in real life. If you waste your time listening to other people on a constant basis to make decisions, you'll eventually look back at those choice and think one of two things: 1) this was a really good decision. or 2) this was a horrible f-ing mistake and I am the dumb.

I'd wait on the refund until you've had a chance to play for yourself. I think you should still be able to get a refund as long as you don't go over the 2 hour/2 week mark.

we literally see the theif use powder barrage, and warfare gets access to fighter skills, I don't see why it would be hard to recreate strider. but like you do you.
Drake Mar 9, 2024 @ 8:37pm
yeah thief is dagger, the archer uses the bow.

Maybe they thought the warfarer was a cool idea so they balanced the game around it, giving only one weapon to everyone and make the warfarer the ultimate hybrid.

I stand by what I said though. You had already pre-ordered it, so you should have stuck with it until you were able to play and find out for sure : /

Well at least assassin is the easier one to go with the warfarer, you just have to pick dagger, bow and sword/shield.
The ones that has issues are really magic archer (for the magic dagger) and mystic knight (for the magic shield). And again, we don't know yet how it will work with buffs.
Because assassin was a better class of a previous a d so was mystic knight they were just mega versions, I'd rather more options in the unique play styles then a few class re done but with different names lol

That said the Rouge like class may have full assassin style skills, and they aren't just pass thru starter classes anymore hopefully.
