How many weapons can each class carry?
In DD 1 it was 2 weapons and could swap between but videos only show 1. Does anyone know what it is?

Misnomer. Each "job" had a specific weapon set. Fighter was sword and shield, rogue/ranger was dagger and a bow, mage/sorcerer was a staff, Warrior was a greatsword. Mystic Knight was a mace/hamme, magick shield and staff, assassin was sword/shield/daggers/bow, and magic archer was daggers/magick bow/staff

edit** Warfarer will be able to use all the weapons with a limited number of skills from each class.

I guess I meant can you carry two weapons sets and swap between them like how classes could carry a sword in slot 1 and a bow in slot 2 in the first game. The videos never show people swapping weapons.

In 1 you could carry as many weapons as your weight would allow. Now being able to use them was a different story. Each class/vocation had weapons they could use. An example would be Strider they could equip a set of daggers and a bow. Mages, just a normal stave.

In DD2 each class only has one type of weapon. So it would make sense that you can only have one weapon equipped at a time.
Like the archer only has a bow, no daggers anymore, So he will only equip one bow.

The only exception to this is the warfarer.

Because the there was no actual weapon swapping in DD. It was using a specific "set" of weaponry for the vocation you choose to play as. As a Rogue/Ranger, you have daggers/bow. 3 skills assigned to the daggers, and 3 skill assigned to the bow. As a Fighter, your weapon "set" was sword and shield. 3 skills assigned to the sword, and 3 skills assigned to the shield. Rinse and repeat for the other vocations. So no, you're not going to see any video where the characters "swap" weapons, unless it was a weapon tied to their character's current vocation.

EDIT* In DD2, the vocations are different. Rogue/Ranger was separated into 2 vocations: Archer and Thief. Archer uses the bow, thief uses daggers.

There's a point on one of the gameplay trailers where a mage does the ice spike spell that leaves an upward path and then swaps to a greatsword without menus. So yes we can swap like the first in that we equip weapons to our slots.
As far as if it works like the first fully is up in the air.

Personally hoping for something closer to a Jobs system than how rigid the Vocations were in the first. Equip the Vocation for stats and learning but able to use whatever else we've learned from previous Vocations.

That's the Warfarer vocation though.

It's not a mage, it's the warfarer vocation.

the warfarer is a special hybrid class that can equip 3 sets instead of one, and you can chose any weapon you want and use skills unlocked with other vocations. The vocation is specifically intended to emulate the hybrid playstyles of DD1, while the other vocations are specialized in a single weapon.

I'm not too pleased about the limit to one weapon myself, I played the warrior ALLOT in DD1 and that was limited to just 3 skills on the 2hander. I'm reserving judgement but Im willing to wager its one of the things I don't like about the sequel.

Warfarer class might be the cure, though I will dislike having to play it on all my play throughs. Time will tell.
