Also, the pale skin textures aren't the best. The mid tone and dark skin textures are done really well though.
Tattoos where done well but you are limited to 2 per body part. Head is included in the body so if you want to put a Woad pattern on you character that takes a slot.
Other then that I like it.
No hand and feet slider kinda sucks - i wanted to make the Hulk but he stuck with tiny extremities.
The height slider cap is dumb.
Not interest in cat people so that does nothing for me.
The posture stuff was a nice addition though.
DD1 felt like it gave you more freedom despite having fewer options, at least when it comes to characters most people will actually want to play. DD2 is great if you like creating abominations though. I've seen some really funny ones.
Aside from the minimum height restriction, I actually like the character creator for this game. It's easier to navigate, imho, than it was in the first game. Plus, add the fact that you can have tattoos and more customization on where the scars are, the size of the scars, etc, I feel like it's a couple of steps up from the first game.
You can make some crazy realistic looking people but if you want to lean more into the fantasy territory it's much more lacking than DD:DA and DDON were. Even the elf ears are very lacking in comparison, online had some good length to the ears to make them stand out better.
You can definitely make good looking characters still but it takes lot more skill (and time!) due to how many sliders there are. Took me over 2 hours to get my elf guy to look kind of fine BUT I couldn't recreate my Dragon's Dogma online character because there's nothing close to his pale skintone, long elf ears nor hairstyle. :(
I think it's a really great base to build on and I hope they keep adding more hairstyles at the very least. Perhaps modders will figure out how to add more skin options and colors for us to play with.
Voice selection was really disappointing. I understand that the voices are being modulated in pitch, but every single one of the "Valiant Hero" voices were clearly recorded by a female voice actor. Which is fine if you're making a female character, but none of them sound even remotely male, even though I chose a masculine human body type.
I don't know your ideal of beauty and the look of your girl-friend or wife - but I think, this face for example is not ugly, but pretty beautiful. So it is possible to create attractive and "non ugly faces" - maybe you have to get more skill with the character creator?
