The Arisen is a Pawn?!? (spoilers)
So I am sure you have all seen the story leaks by now how the Arisen from the first game sacrifices their life to give their pawn a soul and life but has Capcom retconned it so that instead of waking up on the beach of Cassardis the pawn actually gets transported to a new world within the Dragon's Dogma multiverse and becomes the Arisen there?

I am sorry do you have a point? I am pretty sure those who have played the previous Dragons Dogma game have a rough idea of how the Dragons Dogma multiverse works regardless of whatever label you want to put on it, I think you might be a little too preoccupied with definitions my dood.

I really don't see what arguing over definitions has to do with the conversation?
im not the one contesting the label i gave it. you are. with your comment.

Alternate world, not universe
take note of the use of the word not in this case it signifies the stature of being wrong.

Yes and I conceded the point

But if it helps move things along ok fine, you are right, the pawn gets transported to an
"alternate universe", happy? Still don't see how this offers a fundamentally different story or experience?

Can we move on? Did you actually have a point to make with your original post or did you just come into the thread to definition nazi?

That's generally what it amounts to anyway.... The Arisen becomes the Senechal, that Arisen's pawn takes his/her place in the world. Whether it's the "same" world or not doesn't matter. The Arisen's pawn could have been dropped into a "fresh new world" over New England. But no, the Arisen isn't a pawn to begin with, or rather, not in ever scenario. The dragon chooses the person meant to be the Arisen based on the person's actions when he arrive and starts destroying everything.

Generally no, but the actions of the previous Arisen kind of threw the multiverse for a loop, the seat of the Seneschal is now unfilled and the pawn was gifted their master's body and now bears all the marks of a true Arisen.

You don't honestly believe they are going to pull a Force Awakens and just copy the script for the previous game do you? Guy becomes Arisen, Arisen kills dragon, Arisen kills Seneschal, rince repeat ad nauseam, give the writers a little more credit will ya.
