Japanese as a whole no. Capcom does though.
I example Homeworld 3 for this. Game I was ecstatic about it and canceled my preorder after playing the demo (bought Dragons Dogma 2 instead)
Then again it might be great as it might attract even larger audience.
Either way it would be great to taste the game :)
Unicorn overlord did the right demo. 5hrs to 7 hours , or when so much of the mai. Quest is done. Progress carries over.
I think it secured more sales then not.
But I do agree, it can be risky. You got to be pretty certain in your game to offer a demo.
Yeah they are one of the few companies I know I will buy sight unseen 100% of the time.
