They mentioned in an Interview that the Affection System from DD1 returned, but had been updated to include Drama. So for instance, if Character A and Character B both have a crush on you, Character A and B may become unfriendly or even hostile towards each other because of it.

Earendel, what is your source for those infos,,,😂??? I doubt the romance will be restricted to specific genders. They were never restricted in the first why do that now? Arisen will be able to romance anyone in the world regardless of their genders.

For other events, genders will play a role though. Just as being a beastren, people will react differently. But for romance I seriously doubt it. They showed early footage from IGN with Ulrika interacting with a female Arisen and she shows same interest.

Better not spread fake informations without sources. We will see soon enough anyway.

Notice how there's no mention of gay relationships in my comment, did I say it will be restricted? You will not be able to romance anyone in the world, only specific characters will have romance quests. Most NPC's will most likely not.

I do believe as you said that the main characters will have more meaningful quests regarding the romance. I was referring to your last paragraph where you say if you are female or male you have this and that choice.

I was wondering what are your sources for that specifically? Because I don't think they gave any detailed informations about that. Some are obvious like Ulrika but I don't think they spoiled anything about the others.
Why yes. The romanceable character is you, the player

Are you illiterate? Telling you a second time, I never claimed romances would be gender-locked. I named male partners for females from a heterosexual perspective, if I was bisexual maybe I would have started naming every character in the cast, does that clear things up for your big brain?

No need to be rude. English is not my native language. I was just asking for your sources but you could've said that you were just speculating... That's it. It's just a misunderstanding

In 1 you could romance literaly any npc in the game.

"Players' character can interact with sex workers, exchanging currency for services," the explanation for the Mature rating reads. "A brief sequence depicts the player sitting on a bed with a prostitute (both wearing underwear) before the camera fades to black. One cutscene briefly depicts characters kissing and rolling around in bed (no nudity). Two monsters are shown with bare breasts, though with no discernible details (i.e., no nipples)."

It's the Japanese and they infuse their games with their culture.

It's either subdued and tastefully conservative like in DD1 or it's absolutely balls to the walls insanity groping touching madness.
There is no inbetween. It's one or the other.

Too bad they don't have an .ini setting like pDramaQueenEnabled=0. Then you could skip all that crap. I hate drama even more than virtual romance.

The romance system was so good in the first one that I don't even remember that there was one.

There are "Romance able" characters in Dragon's Dogma 2. Just have to make them like you via personal quests or other relatable activities then you can find and give them something called- Arisen's Bond or whatever it will be called in the second one to lock them in as your only romance.

Raise their affinity to the max then gift them that. In the first one there was an audible chime or something when affinity hit a peak or something.

I always found romance in games extremely cringe, especially with explicit sex scenes rather than implied, but I honestly forgot most players aren't going to have a meaningful relationship or even sex so I'll just smile and nod.
