It doesn't stop steamdeck from being used, it isn't malware and it doesn't cause performance issues (unless implemented improperly which is the developers fault not the DRM), It does stop modding but not really any more the Denuvo already stops modding.
Because the only case of experts talking about it I can find is IBM's white hats talking about it being used multiple times as a malware delivery method. Just saying.
Malwarebytes analyzed a lot of it, and a few other anti-virus sites I would have to look for the specific forums. The virustotal image that was floating around was just a renamed file i believe so that is on the "malware" front
On the modding and steam deck front modders have said it really doesn't stop mods and and there are Engima protected games that are running perfectly fine on steam deck.
You reiterating what you said before isn't siting your source. Which is what the guy was asking for.
Very true.
https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/306752-the-enigma-protector-capcom/
malwarebytes is pretty well known so ill just leave this here but other antivirus sites did a check and found nothing but i couldn't find those posts.
on the modding front:
he wrote a indepth post but i couldn't find it but here is him saying lots of misinfo.
https://twitter.com/Fluffyquack/status/1745633610122551379
for reference he is a prevalent modder in the capcom scene.
It is. And they are clearly aware of this because Denuvo went subscription meaning at some point it isn't worth keeping Denuvo in for the developer, Enigma from the trends recently seen is added AFTER Denuvo is removed.
Why not hiring your own people to make your own service that is tailored to by a specialist team for each game/service? it's obviously the better choice, it's obviously got better long term results....but no saving an extra couple bucks to lose a couple bucks later makes more sense....
If any of you think you're being funny by giving clown awards for most of these comments, at least try to prove that I'm wrong instead of making yourselves look like the actual clowns.
Understand that software like Mcaffee that comes pre-installed with some Windows PC's is also known to be completely useless and slows down your computer while allowing viruses in it.
I see this as a reason to be outraged and you should too. Capcom are the real bunch of idiots here for being petty with mods and cheapening out on buying the lowest priced DRM for their back catalog of games, and presumably their new games once license with Denuvo expires.
We need to bring this to the attention of consumer rights advocates since it's a really concerning issue when we're talking about viruses being installed without the average person knowing.
