avoid key shops, stick to official sites only but do check up on each of them first before you buy just to be safe
Suerte
- the game is treated as a gift by steam
- you don't get steam points for the purchase (the currency to buy wallpapers/avatars etc). So if you spend $50-110 that's a lot of Steam points money you're missing out on.
- it's -much- harder to refund the game - something you should consider for this game in particular. It's not wise to jump in head first here. Also any reviews you leave don't count to the global score.
there's other downsides when using keys but I can't remember them.
This is a very very good point and something people need to keep in their minds
I would've refunded Monster Hunter Rise after it added Enigma if i had bought it directly from steam, but since i had bought it elsewhere on sale, it wasn't going to be happening
There is some security in buying off steam, assuming the prices match
