So... Is there any hope that it would change? It looks as stupid as possible. This was one of the features of the first game. Dressing up is always fun. Possibility to choose a different look for your character and pawn. I can’t even believe that it was possible to refuse this.

It's too late in development to change now.

They probably did this is because as graphics get more realistic things get more complicated. When graphics are more quasi realistic and cartoony it's easier to get away with the stuff they did before. The amount of work they'd have to do to fix clipping and tearing was probably not worth it if they actually wanted to release the game.

Same with the character creation. It looks like you start by choosing between 45 faces of different ethnicities and then you select a preset look and then a head shape to get started. I think it is because publishers want the graphics photo realistic to push hardware and the devs have to make due with the limitations of the new hardware.

I could do without the skimpy outfits it makes looking for pawns difficult. That being said I plan on making a full custom party after the first playthrough anyway, so not to much of an issue.

They better let players choose if they want skimpy or the 'male complete armor' option. As a player who enjoy roleplay I hate those "strings bikini" that hold heavy pieces of armor that are not protecting my characters in any ways.

I have the same issue with all those games (Monster Hunter World for example).
Let me have the badass armor and not the waifuesque one.

Male armor wasn't that different from female. Better early game protection for males is provided by underwear with socks.

There is something to suit all tastes in this game (DD1 and therefore very probably DD2). You're not forced to use sexy clothes if it offends you...
