Is that price a joke?
No really, is it? That's $107.33 CAD Give your heads a shake devs, this isn't going to be the worlds best game to ever exist that will be so deserving of such an insane price

Baldur's Gate 3 launched with that price, as did that space one from bethesda, so, I'm thinking they aren't joking and they think that is the new standard.

These higher prices are here to stay. It does suck but as a consumer you just need to be more selective with your purchases.

We had $50 for like 10years then $60 for 15years now it's $70 what do you expect prices to stay the same forever regardless of how the economy is doing get use to it $70 is the new pricing for almost all upcoming big game's.

Yes but those games for 60 dollars also gained macrotransactions up the ass. Battlepasses, cosmetics, lootboxes, and more. So they more than enough compensated for being 60 dollars for that long. So, ya that whole false, ignorant, and delusional narrative that 70 dollars is justified due to how the economy is and ♥♥♥♥ is irrelevant.

Here's the thing your not forced to buy any of that to play the game you can simply ignore that or avoid those game's like I do and yea the economy is terrible inflation is terrible do you really expect cost of gaming to stay the same even though the cost of everything else is basically doubled and is getting worse as time goes on does it suck yea it does but that's life it's not fair and never was.
And there the whole thing of you don't have to buy every new game at launch and your not forced to only buy from main party sellers at full price there's 3rd party key sellers for a reason I can already get the game 10% off right now.

Baldur's gate 3's US's launch price was the usual 60 and its early access price even lower...

Square Enix was the one that spearheaded the $70 drive starting with Final Fantasy 7 remake and Forspoken. Then Blizzard joined in the fun with Diablo 4. Followed by Microsoft/Bethesda with Redfall and subsequently Starfield.

The whole strawman excuse that you don't have to buy it, is another delusional narrative. Content is being stripped from the game to sell, often times at quite high prices. Furthermore, there are other games were the so called optional cosmetics start giving actual in game advantages. Just look at the COD skins that were all "optional and you just not forced to buy them" and suddently were actually giving in game advantages (skins that would blend into the landscape during a match). Again, inflation already hit games way into the 60 dollar phase with all the microtransactions. If inflation was such a huge issue, then how come gaming companies were still breaking record profits year after year after year even at 60 dollars. Its because they created their own compensation with inflation with all the microtransactions and selling of 4 day early access. We can also factor in that many of these games are not doing physical or severely scaled down physical releases. So, that also cuts back on huge costs. Your attempts to defend the unecessary price increases is so sad and it hurts to see someone play right into the hands of greedy corporate suits.

And look at what's happening with those game's there all failing and being mass hated across the board avoid them because there all terrible and there only going to get worse that's what I do I no longer play games with loot-boxes and battle-passes and P2W elements because I'm not stupid the price of game's were always going to increase it was only a matter of when they were $50 then $60 now there $70 you avoid the game's that are bad which is a very easy thing to do and you buy the game's that are good & it's straight up just a single day of not eating fast food hell in California it's a burger this is just how things go am I defending it no I am not I'm just stating facts that this was always going to happen whether it's out of greed or the whole the cost of everything else in life has also doubled it's not just one think it's a combination of multiple things and what makes you think game's won't increase in prices at any point at any time when everything else is increasing in prices.

I guess the rumors for GTA 6 are true, 150$ game , devs are in over their heads, i mean look what happened to FORESPOKEN, they listed their game 92$ CAD originally and the game got trashed.

I think it will be 70 USD as well, just that they will microtransaction the living ♥♥♥♥ out of the online component such that it will be near impossible to earn enough within a reasonable amount of time to get even the cheapest car or house - imagine 30 min bank heists only giving you 1000 each run while even the cheapest car costs hundreds of thousands. That will pressure players into either buying virtual currency or ponying up for the 100+ USD "ultimate version" that comes with a starting car/house or gives you enough fun bucks to buy one at the start.

Yeah, I don't think they are joking. I will eventually play the game, and probably like it quite a bit, but $107 (Australia) is too rich for my blood. :Decapitation:

Between the price and them shoving denuvo into it, I'm either not buying at all, or waiting for the fattest ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sale capcom has ever done. No way can I afford to just casually drop over 100 CAD on even the base version after taxes. Absolutely unhinged price point. I have bills to pay, groceries to buy, a dog to feed, and even with my pretty decent paying job I don't have the expendable income to drop 100 on a single piece of entertainment. Ridiculous.

Trash to the core with lazy asset copy pasta development is different from an actual developed game with fun gameplay.. Ask your government to stop double dipping in taxes. Maybe you'll at least get 10%+ off of what they're taking right now and be at least priced the same with the rest of the world.
