Its like people wondering why when they emu ps3 games they get ♥♥♥♥ fps when they run Cyberpunk all high at 60,some games use cpu more, some gpu etc.
Here you are below the min,so don't go in expecting it to run well, but hope they just do some godlike opti that could help
I sold a 1080ti last month for $150. Those punch between a 3060 and a 3060ti in most gaming benchmarks, but have considerably higher power draw. There's budget cards that can be had at varying price points if you're willing to buy used or refurb, and there's some good youtube videos which discuss which cards are the best at whatever price point you can afford.
I did read a little about 1060 and found that it should be capable enough to run resident evil 4 remake atleast on 1080p so the gpu should not be a problem i think
Did you price a motherboard in with that? Add another $80-$100 for the motherboard, and then you're gonna need another $60-$80 for the ram. You're looking at several hundred to replace the CPU when you factor in all related costs. And this will probably not get you much of a frame rate increase, I'd wager you'll be fairly disappointed with the performance gains.
You can think whatever you want, I'm just telling you as someone who's built over a dozen of PC rigs over the years for myself and friends and family.
I5 7600k is actually more than enough CPU for a 1060. It's comparable to a 1st gen Ryzen 5 1600x, and I paired a 1600x with a 1080ti, which is double the GPU of a 1060. You got enough headroom with that I5 7600k to at least push a 3060.
But yea upgrade my guy look at the RX6000 card's something like the RX6700xt $300-$350 a awesome 1080p & entry level 1440P card or even the RX6600XT $190 if you have a lower budget a fairly solid 1080p card but yea your going to really struggle with that card it's time to move on.
