Further info on the Deluxe Edition items

There has been some questions about them so I thought of sharing more info that I have found.

The MS store has more detailed descriptions of each item in the deluxe edition. Have a look at the following (go to the individual items under "in this bundle"):

To give the long and short of it, only the heartfelt pendant, soundtrack and camping kit are exclusive to deluxe edition owners. All other items in the deluxe edition come with a notice that they are also available for purchase in-game.

Out of the three exclusives, only the camping kit might be controversial. The pendant doesn't give you any fighting stats, it's just a gift item to be used when trying to boost relationships with NPCs in the game.

The description for the camping kit isn't clear but I wager it would at least be used for fast forwarding time (otherwise you got to wait it out or travel back to an inn to rest) while recovering health. If it provides access to storage chest, it makes it even more valuable since this game has encumbrance (ie limited carrying weight) which in turn affects stamina consumption and regeneration as well.

they showed in a trailer that camping will be a thing, but i wonder it it is just cosmetic....

My guess is that they may release the pre-order stuff for free (bought in game) or sell as dlc at a later date. If they bothered to include that, then I think it is likely they will do so at some point.

As for camping, you raise a good point and gave me food for thought. It does seem odd to make camping an exclusive for deluxe owners if it is being promoted as a game feature. Probably anger a lot of players as well.

Gain one special camping kit, and make them available for purchase at shops in-game. Efficient without being unduly weighty, this camping kit is favored by explorers traveling far afield.

"Special" seems to indicate that the one in the deluxe edition is a unique one. Thus, it is possible that a "standard" camping kit also exists for non-deluxe players. Besides the possibility of cosmetic differences as you suggested, I think the deluxe one might also be very light given that they mentioned about not being "unduly weighty". I were to hazard a guess, it could weigh only 1 unit of weight while the standard one is 5 or even 10. If they want to make it even more "P2W", they could also add storage chest access to the deluxe one.

Can anyone tell me if I will get as gift or buy normally DD2 standard...Can i buy deluxe addon later?

Most games allow you to do this, I'm sure this one won't be any different.
