No idea what's going on over there in nipponland, but between Disgaea 7's pricing and this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, something's funky. It wasn't always like this, Dragon Quest 11's price for example was pretty bog standard just a few years ago on release, same with a lot of other big name games from the east.
who is running the PR team.
Also, wtf is the price lmao.
They put a SSS price on what I expect will maybe, MAYBE be just an "A" (not AAA) game, and slapped Denuvo on top.
I struggle to get friends to fork over 5$ to buy Dark Arisen when its on sale, so this is looking pretty nuts.
This thing better release smelling like roses with no bugs, a MASSIVE amount of depth in story and replayability, some solid improvements, fully voiced Main characters, Perhaps something cool like the ability for players to input new Lines of text for their Pawns and have an AI generated voice manage to say them correctly in other peoples games, and most of all NOT BE A PORT OF A CONSOLE GAME to even stand a chance at justifying that price point.
when you factor out regional pricing, some people buying this could have gotten like 15+ new games to keep them happy and entertained for the same price.
Asia countries prices are fcked up too my guy. They forgot about their own region too.
So it doesn't come to me as surprise. Japanese devs will try to prioritize perceived value over making an actual profit.
To be fair to Capcom, they reliably drop the price of even their latest games even a year after release. Village was 50% off by May 2022--a year later after release. Sunbreak--an expansion--is now 40% off.
DMC 5 was put on a reliable discount as well, it's just weird to look at on Steamdb tho. My wallet will weep for Dragons'd Dogma 2 and Resident Evil 4 on 2024 lol.
