How to Get GFWL Games Working for Windows 8-64bit

FOLLOW STEPS EXACTLY! Don't you dare skip any steps!

1. Uninstall “Microsoft Games for Windows - LIVE Redistributable” AND “Microsoft Games for Windows Marketplace”

2. Reboot Computer (DON'T SKIP THIS)

3. Download GFWL here:http://www.xbox.com/en-US/LIVE/PC/DownloadClient

4. Right click the GFWL installer, go to properties and change its compatibility to “Windows 7”. Save and exit.

5. Right click the installer, and choose “Run as administrator”

6. After it’s installed, run the GFWL game again.

Voila!

This worked for me! Oh and DON'T SKIP ANY OF THESE STEPS!

This worked. F*** WB games for not updating this game to actually work right on a modern OS. After MKX and Batman:AK, it's obvious that simply don't care at all and actively strive to be a huge piece of s*** company.

it's more simple, download this file

http://lolabits.es/dragonsacred/Documentos/xlive.dll+(Bulletstorm),59100086.zip(archive)

extract both files (xlive.ini and xlive.dll) in D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection (or in folder u have ur game) and play from steam

i found this file looking for to play bulletstorm, this is why the name of fie

Confirmed it worked on Win 8.1 64b. I had the same exact client downaloaded and installed previously but it got somehow corrupted and coudnt connect. I have uninstalled, restarted and then redownloaded from here
http://www.xbox.com/en-IE/Live/PC/DownloadClient
installed, logged in and it worked. I can now play Mortal Kombat.

Warning: There is a separate thread that suggest to download this version

This is an OLD version (different size) and it will NOT work. Install the version from xbox.com as originally suggested.

I dont get it, i have Win 8.1 64 bit and its absolutly no problem to play the game.
All u need is the GFWL client, thats it.
