The GOG versions are based on DOS and are terrible. No controller support and bad graphics/sound.

That's not "Mortal Kombat Kollection" on GOG. This is Mortal Kombat Kollection here on Steam.
GOG is MK 1, 2, and 3 the home versions not arcade. I haven't tried 2 and 3, but I bought MK 1 DOS box set back in the day, and it came with a gravis game pad. Regardless, these are DOS games, and all controllers work in DOSBOX, you may need to just set it up in the DOSBOX config. Also, it should be obvious, those games have no online, only local mulitplayer, althought MK3 could technically be played onlinein LAN mode with something like Evolve or Tunngle.
no xinput doesnt work in dosbox .i usualy use xpadder with my x360 pad

DOS version! Ugly graphics, poor controller support, bad online support. I want the steam version fixed! Also want MK4, Deadly Alliance, Deception, and Armageddon in HD for PC/Next-gen consoles.

yeah, that would be marvellous... they shouldn't forget those games! deception and shaolin monks were my favorites baclk then.

Actually, programs like that are not needed to play DOSBox games online. Playing online is as simple as port forwarding UDP port 213 and giving your friend your public IP address to join. Even GOG makes a multiplayer tool to host or let a friend join via IP address (works for LAN or Internet).

I've done this with Duke Nukem 3D (I have the GOG version long before the Steam version was released), and my friend and I had dukematches. I haven't tried it with MK3 yet, just picked up the set.
