Some fatalities require you to be holding block before executing the button command. This is info from playing the classic versions on consoles ( sega / nintendo )

You need to look up the codes for mortal kombat, mortal kombat 2 and ultimate mortal kombat 3.
Deadly alliance moves won't work for these 3 games.
