how to fix your NAT type to be OPEN instead of moderate (Discussions version)

Many people want to play multiplayer in this game, but since gfwl requires port forwarding and the fact that open NAT type can be achived only by people with WI-FI routers, not that much people can actually play multiplayer not only in this game, but also in all other games that has a gfwl support. Also my research proved the fact that people with moderate NAT can play multiplayer ONLY with people with the same NAT type, meaning that if your friend has moderate NAT and you have open NAT, theres no way for you to play with him, and no way for him to play with you, perhaps you/your friend can do the steps written below to make your/his NAT open

SO, to have open NAT type, you need to activate UPnP on your router, if it helped and gfwl says "active, used", then the guide for you has already come to end. BUT, if your router doesnt supports UPnP or supports it but gfwl says "active, not used" you will be forced to do port-forwarding

to make your NAT open without using UPnP you need to open 3 ports
3074 TCP
88 UDP
3074 UDP
(actually the order doesnt matters, you can open them in any order you want)

opening these 3 ports already helped to couple of my friends, and i hope that it will also help to you
if you dont have WI-FI router, then your situation is helpless, since all of this can be done ONLY on WI-FI router

ALSO, its actually recommended to have both UPnP and opened ports
