How do I install pure faction and what does it do??

Wow helpful here i see.. pure faction i belive the patch to fix issues with newer video cards and other bug fixes

Pure Faction is a 3rd party modification for Red Faction, intended to address some compatibility issues with newer hardware and bring some improvements to multiplayer matchmaking. The best reason to use it with the Steam version of the game is to be able to choose any resolution you would like to instead of the game's basic available 5:4 resolutions. To install it, simly download the it from the website[purefaction.org], then install it to the game's installation folder (default:SteamApps/common/Red Faction). If you want Steam to detect it, and be able to launch it trough the Steam client, just switch the names of the original, and the Pure Faction's game, and launcher .exe.

i still not really sure how to get Steam to detect it. Please help

Delete redfaction.exe and rename pflauncher to redfaction.exe

maybe you should uninstall and reinstall. And backup your save game first

it was a fresh install so I don't know what wrong. plus it launches from pflauncher find when I don't rename the files or delete anything.

could you take a screenshot of that error for me. I honestly don't know why such an error happen when steam installed it itself. The PureFaction work fine to me though.
