Does Multiplayer still work?

This original RF has always been one of my favorite games because everything in it is fully destructible compared to the most recent versions where its not as destructible which really sucks....and I've already beat the single player years ago so i'm not sure if I wanna go through with that again although it is tempting...so I guess the $5 sale isn't that much of a loss...

Anyhow...I am wondering if I get this...Does anyone know if the Multiplayer part is still working and if so does anyone play this online still? Anyone know anything?

RF1 multiplayer still has some activity, you can find 0-30 people, depends on the time of day

Was wondering the same thing as I had this for the PS2 back in the day. Does multiplayer include bots?

can anyone post me a link on how to host red faction servers as well?

There is already dedicated server configuration included in the Pure Faction Launcher. Go to "Server Setup" and choose a game mode (ctf, dm or teamdm). Then click on configure and choose your settings. Save it and launch the dedicated server. Remember to open the port (default is 7755).

Deathrun isnt a mod
No mods are played in multiplayer anymore, everyone just plays default rf (make sure you get purefaction so you can auto download custom maps)

I consider DR a mod.

Its not a normall game mode that comes wit hthe game.

Not that I know of, I was never able to get a group together so I kinda wonder if it'd work still. I don't see why not and I'm up for trying if you wanna give it a go.

Players are online most nights (especially on weekends) - not many, but they play. You should join the Red Faction community Discord - pretty much the entire community is there, and it'll be your best bet to play the game with others. Discord invite link: https://discord.gg/fRrUzuV

Also, FAQ/common issues index, quick start guide, and a web-based server browser are all available on the Red Faction help site: http://redfaction.help/ :) I'd encourage you to follow the instructions in the quick start guide to install the community patch Dash Faction - it adds new modernizing features and fixes most known issues with the game (affecting both single player and multiplayer).

One more thing - on the RF community Discord (invite link above), we run community "game night" events every second Saturday to ensure everyone who wants to play the game gets a chance. These events are casual and noncompetitive events where everyone is welcome - and they're really the only time 8+ players are in one server playing together in 2020. The RF Game Night events are coordinated through the Discord, and #rf-game-night-schedule (on the Discord) always has the current schedule of events. Hey thanks for letting me know for sure i will check that out! im curouse is there a mod for some type of CO OP for red faction 1? like the story missions but maybe with a freind is that possible?
