Does the Physical Release Have English?

I'm considering buying this, but I always prefer to buy physical when possible. I know this got a physical release for PS4 and Switch in both Japan and North America, but the NA release is pretty expensive and hard to find. However, I heard the Japanese release can still be played in English. Can anyone tell me if that's true?
I realize this may be the wrong place to ask this, but Nintendo and Sony don't have game-specific forums.

Yes. The Japanese release had an English option. I initially planned to import it before it was announced for localization because of that.

I just recently purchased JP limited edition on PS4, the moment I booted it up it was in English without needing to change anything.

What’s the difference between buying the english and japanese releases then is there a reason they are priced so differently?
