Rocksmith will not start
Game starts for 3 sec, then I have a black screen and it throws me back to the desktop with the error message " Rocksmith.exe stopped working"

I do not know if I translated the error message correctly (german client).

Can somebody help me?

In your Steam Library right-click Rocksmith, go to Properties/Local Files/ and click VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE. Hope that helps you. Rock on

Check ur system for tunebite or other Audials Software and uninstall this programms, then Rocksmith will work.

I have the same problem, it simply won't launch. The screen just goes black as the game launches and then it crashes. I also tried reinstalling steam at C:/steam ... doesn't work.
I've tried unistalling the only audio driver i could find (realtech) but it didn't help.

I have exactly the same Problem. Ubi Soft and Steam just give answers Like "install on c:" or "quit all backround programs". I wait since release for a solution.

I wrote to ubisoft and they got my diagdx file and we found out it was a program called soundtaxi that made the problem .. uninstalled it and now it works ... didn't have to format my pc :)

Glad you got it working, just wanted to add for those out there that I found a different fix for similar issue.

If you have an issue with Rocksmith staying minimized after launch and when attempting to restore the window Rocksmith minimizes again then I have a potential solution.

Navigate to the game directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rocksmith\, open Rocksmith.ini with Notepad and change the ScreenWidth, ScreenHeight to your actual resolution. You can find your resolution by right clicking your desktop and click Screen resolution. Width is the first value, Height is the second (width x height)

Hopefully this helps someone who runs in to the same problem.

Hi,

I had the exact same problem and it turned out to be cause by a conflict between Rocksmith and Tunebite.

I didn't have to uninstall Tunebite - simply deactivate the "Tunebite high-speed dubbing" soundcard and now the game runs perfect.

Hope this helps!
