What was truly annoying was Gamestop wanted 40$ to order one, and Best Buy refused to even order one for me.
This offer wasn't well thought out was it?
I've recently got myself an electric guitar (as opposed to my crappy acoustic) and I thought this game would be loads of fun. Then, a few days later, I see the offer... then I try to find the cable (I live in Poland), and... yeah... no.
Ironically, I can purchase the whole game with a cable without much fuss, but the cable itself (to make use of this promotion) is nowhere to be found. :<
What makes things even more silly, is the the cable is more expensive than the game bundle I can find in a local store.
Potential customers aren't stupid.
Steam doesn't want to commit to selling physical goods, and they don't want to have a referral "claim your free physical product from vendors here" because the logistics isn't worth the money they'd make.
Rocksmith on Steam is like buying a game which requires two discs to install, but the second disc isn't sold online. Totally barmy.
I can't shake the feeling there's something sinister going on here - i.e. someone's counting on sales made by people who don't notice the requirement for the cable till it's too late.
It's 75% off the software - the software's standalone price is cheaper than the RRP of the bundle (which isn't available over Steam for obvious reasons) already.
Is this sale better than the sales on the bundle other retailers have? Probably not; but crying "this other store's sale had it cheaper" is not the same as trying to deceive you...
Yeah I always see them on sale at JB hifi.
There are alternatives...
