Frets on Fire VS. Rocksmith
So i recently looked at Rocksmith.

Andi used to play a lot of frets on fire, but seriously how different it is?

From my understand it's totally different. Well... to me.

Do you sometime stream you playing Rocksmith?
Well i do, and MANY MANY people think it's Guitar Hero, then when i say it's not, they think it's Frets on Fire. Why? Because of the frets numbers.

Is Rocksmith isn't know enough by many? Shame Guitar Hero and Frets on fire is too well know instead of Rocksmith.

Anyone had hilarious or facepalm moment like this while playing in front of a friend or in a livestream in front of people who never heard of rocksmith?

rocksmith was originally called guitar rising but the company scrapped the idea and ubisoft scooped it up giving it justice

Rocksmith is a few months old, as GH or Frets on fire got many years. This may explain a bit

I also played quite a bit of GH and Frets on Fire (I especially liked FoF, all those gorgeous custom tracks constantly being added and updated to choose from*drool*) and I have had people mistake RS for FoF several times. RS wins hands down though. Similar visual presentation because I honestly cant think of a better way to do it when so many people had already become acclimated to it from GH. I came into RS having spent a year attempting to learn guitar on my own through various video lessons and books, and really getting nowhere, to finally gaining a bit of comfort and confidence with a guitar, which is still increasing with each session... though I would rather enjoy it if there were an option to import custom tracks, as in FoF. I would probably saw off my left arm for that deal if I didnt need it to fret and finger :P

Depending on your location. Europe got Rocksmith only some months ago (around christmas), including the bass dlc

Main difference between GH/FoF and Rocksmith that i experienced:
-Rocksmith uses a real guitar as a "controller"
-Rocksmith incorporates different techniques that can't be reproduced using GH/FoF
-Rocksmith allows you to play what you want between the notes you have to play without negatively effecting your score.

@Davez0r:
Actually there are some people working on the possibility to import custom tracks into Rocksmith.
