Even for a beginner they are not really useful, it's only slowdown the process to learn as a beginner will always look at the guitar instead of with "normal" strings they will start to not look at the guitar way earlier than this.
It's nice, but too gimmick and not that useful, specially with that price.
at the string while playing the game. So when you practice offlline, your playing is more
relaxed, faster, and accurate. You don't need color coded strings, especially at the
price they are charging.
In my opinion these are the best strings around.....

I want color strings for stage performance, for the show. Was looking to many colored strings for years, but didn't like any. And this ones came, but people say that they got loose coating. But have it for one show and then change it is ok, 'cos any set of strings will die after relatively big gig.
And about color coding thing. As for me, it is necessary. I'm playing guitar for seven years, and this game whole last week, and still can't say which string game wants me to play. Same case for any newbie. Color reference is wery useful. And I'm sure when newbie will change his strings to regular uncolored, he will be ok, 'cos he will see the same old 6 strings. And for those who say that you need not to look on your hands when playing — of course you do need to look on your hands. Every musician looks what he is doing. But of course it's completely wrong if you get lost immidiately when you stop looking.
And about string names, while redyellowblue is definitely wrong, game itself doesn't provide classic naming, so any newbie still need to take lessons/read books on that.
Bassist in my previous band uses DR neon green 30$ per pack. Looks cool by itself, but totally out of band style, and not on red p-bass.
I prefer the regular slinky as they have a richer sound.
Started off loving the Super Slinky but have gravitated to a thicker set.
Though you must try the cobalt. They are just stunning.
Double the price but trust me you won't regret it.
