Similar to Rocksmith
Is there anything similar to Rocksmith for other instruments like keyboard or drums?

For piano/keyboards, check out Synthesia[www.synthesiagame.com]. For vocals, try UltraStar[www.ultrastargame.com] and UltraStar Deluxe[ultrastardx.sourceforge.net] (PC clones of SingStar). Rock Band[www.rockband.com] can be played with a keyboard, drumset or a mic (as a singer), though it's console-only. Performous[performous.org] can supposedly handle SingStar, Guitar Hero and Rock Band instruments, so is an all-in-one solution for PC.

The only other game I know of, besides Rocksmith, that actually involves playing a real guitar is Instinct[getinstinct.com]. It's a web app (no download involved, other than Flash Player) and focused more on learning. It doesn't have an amp sim or backing tracks to play along to, but on the flipside it's completely free, works even with an acoustic guitar and a computer mic, and new lessons to play along to are being added regularly.

Okay thank you very much for the elaborate reply.

for drums, check out Rock Revolution on Xbox 360/PS3 by Konami. it has a 7 part drumkit.
not just 5 like Rock Band or 6 like Guitar Hero.
But it's very hard to find a Drum pack of the game.

iPad/iPhone users have Guitar Prodigy. which works very well and is similar. focuses more on training and lessons. but also has a similar sized song library. A good program, but not better then Rocksmith because it doesn't have all the progressive difficulty and general goodness of Rocksmith.

Cheers! Just tried "Instinct". I think it works really well too. A good complement to Rocksmith!
