Report a translation problem
So you're basicly playing with your regular setup (and the in-game guitar sound muted), but the signal splitted into realtone / rocksmith so it can pick up what you're playing.
A simple passive splitter like you're using would probably not be perfect for sound, but workable. But the charm of Rocksmith is also the bunch of included modelled presets that get automaticly picked for every song.
If you switch from playing a Muse song, to Velver Revolver to Lenny Kravitz, you'll have to make your own sound presets on your UX1 / amp and switch them manually, while Rocksmith can do it for you.
... but if you really don't like the sound Rocksmith is producing, yeah go ahead. Try it like this :).
It's not the original question, which was probably (like 90% of Rocksmith questions) how to play _Without_ a realtone cable.
