Rocksmith and Skype not working
I've been wanting to play rocksmith for a friend of mine over skype, but whenever i'm in a call and boot the game up it takes complete control of the audio, I can't hear them and they can't hear me...anyone know anything to get this solved?

I haven't tried it, but you probably need to disable audio exclusivity in Rocksmith.

I tried that, all it did was break my game. It would freeze whenever the window was open.

it sounds like the game is taking full duplex control of your audio hardware. forgive my lack of terminology im not a student of audio hardware but consider for a moment that rocksmith is giving full output to the speakers and requiring full input from line in, without two dedicated audio cards one for skype and one for rocksmith you may not be able to achieve the effect your after due to "requests and control" of the audio card.

That would be a half-duplex but yeah...that sounds about right. How lame :/

fk ♥♥♥♥ ill just play rocksmith by myself XD it sounds complicated and unecessary to get both audios working properly. i mean skype works with everything else anyway XD

if you could run skype on a separate computer it would work but there's no way windows can handle running two sound cards at the same time (this is why the crash). in theory you could cable route your sound cards output to the skype machine but that would require additional hardware that can handle multiple audio input signals (1 for rocksmith and 1 for your mic to talk). u could use something "cheapish" like a presonus audiobox USB on the skype machine but that's gonna run you about $150 US. i've seen $20 2x2 usb audio interfaces but they're RCA only. love this idea tho i wonder if someone could make it work

P.S sorry for the necro but this is a great idea :D

I found a way to do it, without any expensive stuff. Simply go into the audio settings in the game, and change "Audio Exclusivity" off, i just did it about hour or two ago ;))
