How does matchmaking work? BR1 fights BR2; BR2 fights BR3; Etc...

So like sometimes I wanna play BR1, I equip BR1 equipment on EVERYTHING. Down to like the cantines and mines and stuff.

Equipping BR1? I fight against BR2. Okay...

So what about BR2? I equip BR2 equipment for everything, same song and dance.

Equipping BR2? I fight against BR3...

I do the same for each rank and it seems I'm somehow STILL surprised to see gear just ONE level ahead of me and this makes a BIG difference for lower levels.

When I'm in BR2, I don't expect to see Shermans, but somehow I do???

In BR1, I don't expect to see BR2 equipment. Simple as is right?

I even check the matchmaking and it shows BR1 to BR2 and BR2 to BR3.

BR1 to BR2 Im more lenient on but beyond that is a little unfair.
Sometimes the matchmaking won't even SHOW BR2 to BR3 and still show BR1 to BR2 for BR2 equipment yet I see BR3 equipment.

Is it just advantageous to equip the best of the best BRV equipment so you never have to deal with this??? How does it really work?

Should you always equip higher level equipment or is BR1 and BR2 that true medium where if you somehow fight against BR3 or one up, you'll still have SOMEwhat of an advantage?

System is built so vets can curb stomp with stacked squads. Play br3 with every squad stacked and leave everytime you get uptiered and only play on downtiers and you can stomp br2 with br3 gear. Now squad up with 3 friends and do premade stacked squad curb stomp on br2 solo que new players

You can kill things at a higher tier than you, their equipment is just a little better, I'm BR 3 at the moment and I still just use the Chi-ha because the HE has good rate of fire, you just have to adjust your playstyle, for me that means being a bit less aggressive, especially at the start of the match where shermans will just rush in because nothing can kill them immediately

Except for tanks where it can be annoying (to be verified), I find that a difference of one BR level is not problematic.

i agree, difference on one br for infantry is not that bad, well maybe except 2-3 br, because br 3 gets semi auto. but tanks yeah can be a bit of problem, not always, much more if its on higer br. sometimes also planes, like how japanese ♥♥♥♥♥♥ plane from br1 can fight my br 2 p38 with 50 cals, 20mm cannon and m8 rockets. but now br 3 is the place where game says you can get in match with br5 and thats not that fun

yeah i noticed that in my match someone uses MP-40 while in br 1 i only have mp 28

Oh man, I just unlocked a Japanese BRII rifle, after entering the battle with it I am facing down thompsons and m2 semi autos lol. I just dropped back down to BRI to keep my sanity in check.

BR1 is standalone the rest faces eachother its not really fair tbh.

the matchmaking in this game is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke. Everything is just massive blowout wins which aren't fun or massive blowout losses which arent fun. Very few balanced fights ever just one comical curbstomp after another. It's been like this since CBT and I can't understand why they wont change it.
