Anybody get the feeling this won't stay WW2?
They're adding jets for crying out loud. Now, for germans, this kind of makes sense, they actually produced a few jets that saw combat, but the allies? It was NOT the F-80A-5-- it deployed in italy but it didn't see combat. The Gloster Meteor... Hm maybe... but besides that, there are few exceptions to look at.

How long until this game is no longer WW2 at this rate? I don't even know if this is a good or bad thing-- I find it more negative since I want things to stay in this setting for the fun and immersion but with the addition of jets, the Jumbo Pershing T26E1-1 and yes, they're even finding files for the IS-3 and German Maus in-game.

It's only so long until the devs realize they can milk a new cash cow by extending the tiers into the cold war which sucks. Anybody have thoughts on the situation? :VSnake:

EDIT:

Also, yes, I know the German Maus was made in WW2, but anything added to the game that was experimental or at least present during WW2 I'm fine with AT MOST. There are things that are overkill like the T20 Garand and its versions which was entirely experimental during and after the war and never saw combat but anything added that is post-war say an "M14" or an "M16A1", that's overkill and immersion-breaking for something that is supposed to be WW2.

I would also prefer that we stay on the Second World War. :/

I hope not.
WW2 still has a lot to offer, especially at the snail's pace we're going at, with a new map every 6 months or so.
There's no need to go Cold War, yet. If Enlisted doesn't die any time soon and has a long life like War Thunder, it might make sense in the future. But at the moment it would be extremely wrong, in my opinion.
And in any case it would make more sense to go back to WW1 before Cold War.
You could reuse all the factions already present, adding at least two tiers to the TT. You could also easily add new factions that had a secondary/marginal role in WW2, but fought a lot in WW1.
If they add post war stuff for everyone, i dont see an issue but only giving america post war jets aka the allied team is highly questionable, even tho this could be a bit troublesome for japan and germany as they have nothing for many years the JSDF was founded in 1954 and the Bundeswehr in 1955, in the time between 1945 and 1955 they had nothing and were occupied, after that time they founded new armies and slowly started to develop new weapons, both countries bought american weapons for 20+ years and germany was also cut in half which makes it even more troublesome to generate cold war stuff will they get west german american stuff or east german soviet stuff ? Or Both and screw the realism.

It would be possible to create stuff for the soviets and america only and they fight eachother then in a korean war setting eventually adding korean and chinese squads.

I mean, it's Gaijin. And they went from theaters to Battle Ratings. WT already have Battle Ratings and the higher you go, the more modern you end up while the lower you go, the more it stays WW2.

So I think it's pretty natural to also assume the same will happen here. I am not saying it will, I am just saying it wouldn't be unheard of that they make new BR tiers that are cold war and up
I am mostly fine with it so long as they understand that separating some of these older planes and weapons is a must; Because I can only imagine how unfair it would be on any side to fight something leagues ahead of what your using; For example a regular biplane fighting jets, that's not going to go well, and especially for bombers, well let's just say the bombers already have a ♥♥♥♥♥ of a time fighting normal planes, I mean I use the Ju, with its limited mobility I can at the best of circumstances take out 3 planes with having to bail after the 3rd one.
i think they will go up into korean war even. and more WW2 factions BUT i think the modern/late cold war will stay in warthunder

before anyone says that their will be no infantry in warthunder because it was april fools , if anyone knows the snail then we know the event was to test a new mechanic like UFO event was test VTOL

This sums up how i feel about it
They should have added a dozen things to Japan before going to a whole new tier of aircraft

100% this is going from WW2 to modern, I hated that in Warthunder, like having a whole tier for Korea, and Vietnam would be great with its own maps and whatnot. Instead, it's like a footnote on the way to modern stuff.
I think modern equipment with Enlisted gameplay would actually be fire but it definitely needs some separation from WW2. All the soldiers have WW2 uniforms and the top tier weapons are still technically WW2 so none of that would fit with modern combat. Plus if you view top tier as end war combat having to fight somebody with a FN FAL when you have an M2 carbine would really ruin the experience.
I feel like it's just gonna be WW2 squads and gear pitted against higher tier modern stuff which doesn't make sense.

yeah i think so too. We already have modern battles in custom mode so it would fit in just fine
